im sorry but i dont think this should be our server lol there are loads of bricks everywhere and nixter's house is like destoryed and mine and sky's is as well there were 2 people called zoopsoulss and purelygood123 dont know what happened unless you lot did it?

Right, to stop the griefers, i've covered over our home with dirt to make it look all natural, and when we get round to it, we're going to need to re-locate to somewhere else, as we got griefed again while i was on this morning, two douchebags somehow got hold of some buckets and poured water into the house, and placed loads of random blocks of wood. Names: yXSniperBongXy and Sghirappakid96

I would also recommend creating secret chests to hide all your stuff in, rather than just leaving it in plain sight, untill all of the mods and permissions are up.

And yes, we are going to need to start a new map, as there seems to be loads of random blocks everywhere.

yeah i think that is probably the best call
i feel that when we are back to full strenght in the community that we should make the server a white list type deal, i know it would be annoying and not many people would like to join because of the hassle but its only an opinion i am sorry for all the random messages before sky i did not mean to spam.

I dont think we need the whitelist thing, as the permissions basically fixes this, as people with no permissions cannot build/break anything.

And I had a quick look around, and I found this page that shows how to set up permissions and stuff for the server, if we're still going to be using the CraftBukkit plugin.

relax guys this is just a temporary map for testing it will not be the map for the new server so dont worry. im working on getting the permissions working but its over complicated and im struggling with it, if anyone know how to work with permissions please tell me

Have you looked at the link I posted?

From what I can gather, you need to edit the groups.yml file, and give each of the different groups permissions. I think you can add other groups in to this simply by following the structure for another group.

This file allows you to set the permissions for each different group, such as the /give and /tp commands.

You also need to set up who will be admin (you) in the users.yml file.

If you follow the guide it should all work.

NOTE: I have no actual experience with this, I'm just making an educated guess as to what might work

i know sky but thats not the problem, in order to edit these files from ingame using commands it needs to be set up properly it seems and i dont get how to do it, the commands does not seem to be working as it says that the group does not exist allthough it does.. this might also be because the player is not online. but it should not matter as it automaticly registers players from the login.. idk
