The new server! Important! READ

Orite guys I'm happy to say that the rebirth of PokemonCraft is just around the corner!

about the 23 june i will order the new comp for the server. it will probarbly take me a day to put it together and installing windows drivers etc.. and setting up the new server, im expecting the server to be back up the 25th

So with all the new updates and shit i have decided that i will start a completely NEW map and leave Dfett (if he is up for it?) in charge of the spawn city as he is a good player and very good admin.

all the plugins will be reset i will get the main ones to prevent grief and start getting the fun ones as we go..

ANY OLD PLAYERS NEED TO POST HERE TO GET IMEDIATE BUILD RIGHTS!

im thinking of settign up a Beta / test server so that it is ready to transfer to the new comp as soon as possible, but testing is not somthing i can do alone.. i need to know how many people here is still interested in pokemoncraft! please reply here if you want to help testing and stuff

Right, I'm up for any testing that needs to be done, and I'm still willing to play, even though the activity around the site seems to have slowed down a little.

I'm assuming all players will be given their old rank back if they had anything higher than builder?

I like the idea for a new map, but this means all the awesome stuff we had will have to be rebuilt, and I hope you get controllerblock again so I can re-build the Noughts and Crosses game

Super happy that the server will be back up soon, I've missed all the fun we had

i am still very interest in the server.
the choice of a new map is a good idea as there are many houses in the old spawn city that aren't in use anymore.
i will be happy to help build if you need anything done while you are doing other stuff within the server.
i have missed pokemoncraft and and super happy that it is coming back to life

orite right now im strugling with the permissions plugin, as i can not figure out how to add ppl to groups using ingame commands

I'd love to do some testing and get back onto the server I've missed playing online and cant wait to get back into it!!! I think resetting the server is a great idea because it a new beginning and we can be more organised with our creations and start fresh with a new map. I hope I can still be an admin if that's ok with you I still remember all of the commands or at least the important ones.
Is the IP going be the same as well?

Before you delete the old map, could you send me a copy, I might get nostalgic sometime and want to have a wander round, and I did work quite hard making my house.

Another idea would be to link the two worlds together, like they were before the server died last time?

I hope you'll still keep the controllerblock mod so I can remake my noughts and crosses board.

Any chance we could make a master list of players and their ranks, just in case this happens again, we can quickly check on the list and players can quickly be given back their old rank.

I'll be happy to create and update this list, unless you want too.

Also, could we restrict the way we can limit the items VIPs and higher ranks can give out to others, it sorta defeats the point of even having VIPs if people just get given stuff they would otherwise have to make or buy from the shop. Giving non-VIPs diamond tools rahter than them having to work for their stuff. I can understand giving stuff like wool and materials for pixel art, but just giving away stuff like that makes the VIP rank seem useless. I know when I'm back on the server I will be very strict with what I give out, as I had to work for all my diamond tools when I was a builder and I think everyone else should have to do the same. This would also make the iConomy mod more useful again, as it sorta didn't get used much after we just started handing out items like candy.

I think that giving someone VIP should also be restricted a bit, as in the few weeks befor ethe crash, there seemed to be more people with VIP on than not. I'm not saying that anyone should be demoted, I just think that some of the fun went out of the window a bit when everyone was able to spawn stuff.

i will continue playing on the server once it comes back. and i agree that admins and VIPs shouldn't hand so much stuff out. i would also be happy to make a city for non VIP/admin players so we always have a place to go.

I think rob making a town would be cool because everyone likes him and he is good at making towns

ok guys, i think its gonna be pretty sweet once it gets back up atm i dont have to much time to play this is why i will make dfett, if he wants mayor od the spawn city and he can choose his own helpers for the city, any other city's will be welcome, but i will make a portal room, and ppl who want to have a portal to their cool stuff, will have to write an app in the forums to make sure we get a portal to all the quality stuff! chunk loading should be alot faster on the new server also so tp'ing wont be as bugged as it was.

as for those of you who is concerned about the VIP ranks and VIP's giving stuff away, as it say in the vip rules they are NOT allowed to give stuff away to non-vip players. as for that VIP's on the new server will be more rare then before as i think spawning items makes the game pointless and the right will only be given to those with cool / huge / sweet-ass builds, ofc many of you have had VIP before and i will ofc give back the VIP to those who contributed good to the old map, so dont worry.

I want to rebuild the spleef arena, as I finished the one I was making just before the server crashed, and it looked quite good.

I'd also like to maybe be in charge of the sky city (it fits in with my name ), and I'm sure I'll be able too keep it running smooth and efficient, and keep it looking nice.

I am happy about your getting strict wit the VIP as it seems everyone has it and it's not a reward anymore I was in the server before it crashed and there was Like 6-8 people with VIP.
Will giving items be ok If you are helping build I.E. The spawn city because I really want to help out as much as I can but I don't want to get people in trouble for supplying the bricks and other objects. And without VIP or them giving the supplies there is not
Much I can do.

Me and jabear were talkin at school today and we think there should be some sort of council for making big server decisions made up of the admin 1 VIP and 1 builder. I think this is a really good idea.

to be honest i dont really think this is a good idea the way we do it at the moment is the best way just posting a comment on this and seeing what everyone wants to do

I'm going to agree with Shovel, we can't just have a select group of people making all the decisions.

I didn't really want to bring politics into this but it will be like a dictatorship with only a few people making the decisions. I think we should stick to allowing everyone to have their opinion, and once we've heard these opinions, we can make a more informed decision.
