Righty then, we're now using WorldGuard so I've made a simple tutorial.
This post will be updated as I learn how to use stuff and what it does
First you need to select the region you want to protect. This is simple.
Get your shiny worldedit axe and select the area you want to protect with the region selection mode Type in //expand vert
This will set up your region from bedrock to sky.
Now you need to give your region a name:
Type the following: /region define <name> g:<groupname> <names of owners of area>
This will give your region a name and set up who the owners of the region are. (To see which region you're in, get some string and right click on a block)
Now to set up the permissions for the region. As standard, anyone on the members and/or owners list will be able to build, anyone not on the list will not.
You can allow people to build in the region by either adding them to the members list, OR if you want to make it a freebuild region, you can disable some of the flags. (See below)
Adding members or owners to the region To add members to the region: /region addmember <id> <uname> To remove members from the region: /region remember <id> <uname> (yes, it does say remember) To add an owner: /region addowner <id> <uname> To remove an owner: /region remowner <id> <uname>
This will allow the members of that region to build normally
To create a freebuild region you'll need to do the following two commands: /region flag <name> build allow /region flag <name> chest-access allow
This will allow all server users to build and use chests in the area
Thats the basics done, now for other stuff.
Entry/Exit messages (appear when player leaves or enters a region) To add a message when a player enters an area: /region flag <name> greeting <message> To add a message when a player exits an area: /region flag <name> farewell <message>
Preventing players from leaving/entering a region To prevent a non-member from entering the region: /region flag <name> entry deny To prevent a non-member from leaving a region: /region flag <name> exit deny Any user that is a member (members explained earlier) will be able to override these commands (I think all Mods and Admins can too). Any use that TP's in to a no-entry area will become stuck and be unable to move, same applies to if they TP out of the area if there is a no exit setup
Selecting a region with the Polygon Tool (allows for funky shaped regions) Get out your trusty worldedit axe and type: //sel poly This will set up your axe to select polygons, not just cuboids. Left click on the first block to start the selection of your region Right click on the next corner of your region to add a corner to the polygon Continue until you have completely outlined the region you want to select (note: do not select the first point again, you don't need too) Expand the region vertically using either of the expansion commands, I recommend using //expand vert Then carry out all of the region definition commands and set up the flags you want.
MOAR TOO BE ADDED CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES!
